New York City College of Technology

NYC College of Technology has a beautiful, modern building that feels clean, welcoming, and professionally maintained. The security guards were amazingly friendly, helpful, and respectful. They greeted visitors warmly, answered questions clearly, and handled everything in a professional manner. Their positive attitude made entering and navigating the building much easier. The campus has an impressive appearance, and the modern design creates a comfortable environment for students, staff, and guests. Overall, I was very impressed by the building and especially by the outstanding security team, whose kindness and professionalism made the experience even better.

Worst administration I've ever experienced, you will mostly likely spin in circles while being directed to various departments, meanwhile nothing gets done...At which point, your deadlines pass regardless of you staying on top of everything and getting things done early. Rinse & repeat, spend your tuition, time and effort, only to realize you should have never stayed so long! AVOID.

The inside is the bad part. The neighborhood has chill spots though expensive The school looks like if an airport had 11 floors Why are the gendered bathrooms alternating? Imagine as a woman you have class on the 6th floor of the Namm building. You have to go down to the 5th, if they’re cleaning that you have to go up to the 7th. It’s not clear where more bathrooms are. The 6th floor single stall bathroom lock was broken and I got walked in on. Imagine I was using that because I was disabled. The elevators are usually packed at typical class times, you should go out of the way to another elevator. You’ll be squashed by someone who doesn’t say sorry or doesn’t know how to have a sense of space in an urban setting. Go have your lunch in the park nearby not inside

My experience at this school has been extremely disappointing. Communication over the phone is very difficult, as most departments rarely answer calls. When visiting in person, many staff members come across as rude, unwelcoming, and lacking professionalism. A positive and approachable attitude is essential when working with students, and unfortunately that has not been my experience here. Some staff members should seriously reconsider whether this type of work is the right fit for them.

Coming back to leave a review after my experience there a few years ago. Professors were wonderful. They have passion for teaching. They are kind and care for the students who often are from low income families or immigrants like me who struggle. The problem with this place is the administration. As an immigrant i understand that there are unwritten rules that apply to me and there is nothing i can do about it, i just don’t have full rights like other students. If i was a brand new student i wouldn’t know how to go around but i was a transfer from bmcc. I knew what to bring to proof that i am NY state resident. I gave them all that they asked for and at the end i was billed as out of state student and had no financial aid that i was counting on. The administration said they never received these documents from me. I remember this exactly because a lady sat me down in an office and said that with a lowered voice. I didn’t know where or how to appeal this or complain. I trusted them that they want to help students. I didn’t have any family to help me pay. I had spend my savings.
